Willow Class

2024-2025

I am  Miss Akin and I teach Willow Class. 

Mrs Tauber is the Year 5/6 Teaching Assistant. We would both like to warmly welcome you and your child to Willow Class Year 5/6. Mrs Ogden will also be teaching Willow Class on Monday afternoons.

At Royles Brook School, we cover a broad and balanced curriculum offering each child an exciting educational journey. Yearly curriculum overviews for each class can be found on the school’s website. In Willow Class this term, we will be particularly focusing on:

·English - we will be looking at and writing our own detective/ crime fiction texts, poems and explanation texts. 

·Maths - this term our units are: multiplication and division, fractions, decimals and percentages, area and perimeter   

·History - this term we will be learning all about the Ancient Greeks. 

·Science – We have 2 topics in science this half term, animals including humans and living things and their habitats. 

PE Days

This terms PE days are on a Tuesday and Wednesday. some of the children in Year 5 will be going swimming on a Wednesday so will need to bring their swimming kit to school every Wednesday. Please send your child to school wearing their full PE uniform on these days. PE uniform comprises of yellow t-shirt, black shorts or black jogger/leggings (no logos) and school PE hoody.
